Working
Boom Barriers are made up of a barrier arm which is pivoted at the fixed point. It has an AC motor, gearbox, locking plunger and a balancing spring. The AC motor is strong and powerful to lift up the installed barrier arm, it moves in the vertical direction. By giving power supply to the motor, the motor rotates the gearbox which in turn moves the counterbalance channels from horizontal to vertical positions & vice versa.
The gearbox is heat-radiating with high carrying ability. The balancing spring holds the barrier arm from not falling low. The locking plunger enters the locking device smoothly and freely. The boom barriers range from 2m – 6m, the operating temperature ranges from -20 to+ 80°C, this allows to use them in different climatic zones and the operating voltage ranges from 110 to 220 V. Common faults of the boom barrier and their maintenance methods are as follows:
1. The buried wire of the boom barrier coil is loose: When the loope dtector coil cannot be firmly fixed in the nest, the vibration of the car passing over the road surface will cause the coil in the nest to deform and change the initial inductance of the loop detector. At this time, the sensor must be reset before it can work normally. The solution is to pour the melted asphalt inside to fix it.
2. The movable screw of the boom barrier is loose: The movable screw is connected with positive and negative threads, and the upper and lower bearings are connected with double-headed screws. If the screw is loose, it will cause inaccurate upper and lower positions. Use an 80MM long Ф4 iron rod to insert between the double-headed screws and rotate to adjust the gate rod up and down.
3. The arm screw of the boom barrier is loose: If this screw is loose, it will cause the upper and lower positions of the barrier rod to be inaccurate and shake more when the rod is stopped. Just tighten the bolt and lock the nut.
4. The magnet in place is moved: The upper and lower positions are both in place with Cimin Hall elements. If the position of the rectangular magnet and the disc with cam of the reducer changes, it will cause inaccurate position. Adjust it accurately and do not flip it over to solve the problem.
5. Power-off protection switch power off: When the control part of the gate fails, the automatic protection device of the gate will work automatically. At this time, the gate rod stops at the inclined upper position and does not move. The main power is disconnected and the machine does not work. At this time, open the machine door and rotate the large belt clockwise for 3-8 turns to the upper position to restore it. If it cannot be restored to its original state after so many times, it is necessary to check whether the Hall element and circuit board are malfunctioning.
6. The lower pull hook adjustment nut is loose: There is a lower pull hook with M10 thread at the bottom of the chassis. Its function is to pull the spring of the balancing mechanism and the zero point adjustment of the balancing function. It is equipped with two M10 hexagonal nuts and Ф10 spring washers. If this nut is loose, knocking sound and imbalance will occur when the machine is running. Although the machine can still run after imbalance, it will greatly increase the load of the reducer, motor and other transmission parts, thereby affecting the reliability and mechanical life of the gate operation.
Fault repair
Generally, simple barrier faults can be solved by the following 3 methods. If your barrier has any of the following 3 faults, it is recommended to ask professionals to repair it.
1. Cannot lift the rod. Troubleshooting method: Measure whether the voltage is within the range of 220V±10V;
2. Out of position, too much vibration. Detection reason: Check whether the operating switch magnet is adjusted and whether the balance spring tension is too loose or too tight. Troubleshooting method: Adjust the position of the stroke control and tighten the tension spring connection bolt;
3. Abnormal noise in the chassis. Detection reason: Check whether the bearing and movable link part are abnormal. Troubleshooting method: Add lubricating oil or replace the bearing.
